4th of July Fireworks

It is really, really too bad about the fireworks situation. Many people have looked forward to this event, year after year. As with Powell, it was one of the “events of the year”. This is not only disappointing, but a sad commentary for the Marina.
Hello i have been taking my family to the lake for years to see the fireworks ,, how come you are not doing them this year?

The Marina is very upset that we are unable to present the fireworks this year. We know it has been the summer event that everyone looks forward to and we love bringing everyone together for the display. In order to bring you the fireworks display each year we partner with out lessor Maricopa Water District. Unfortunately this year MWD informed us that they would not be participating due to the economy. Without the help from them we are unable to bear the entire burden ourselves. We apologize again and hope that we will be able to make up for it next year!
Rather than be the victim and disappoint your members time after time, what about a special assessment? You could poll your members now when the disappointment is fresh for next year to see if they would pony up some cash for the difference in case MWD leaves us high and dry again? Just a thought…
